PowerPoint: the Motion Picture!
Imagine a motion picture based on a PowerPoint presentation. Imagine it being a hit at the Sundance Film Festival.
Imagine that Al Gore's PowerPoint presentation - "An Inconvenient Truth" will be coming to a movie theater near you next month.
It could all happen. And why not?
I've often used PowerPoint as a tool to storyboard short videos and flash movies.
But consider this - if you paint a compelling visual picture with PowerPoint and combine it with persuasive, emotional narrative -- then why can't PowerPoint be a powerful springboard for telling your story in multiple media? ¶ 4/27/2006 10:08:00 AM

Features I like about Keynote, compared to PowerPoint, are it's smoother transitions, display postscript (drag and drop PDF’s) and its ability to save into iDVD format.

Visually, at least, It's what PowerPoint aspires to be. I use both daily and while PowerPoint is a workhorse, Keynote is more akin to a simplified motion-graphics package than "slideware." Its resolution-independent vector graphics and fonts are anti-aliased, and scale cleanly to any size screen (including extra-wide HD screens as seen in An Inconvenient Truth), and it can also incorporate high-resolution video segments. The auto-align features alone are great. I don't think you can get better graphics without moving up to Adobe Premiere or Apple's Motion package.
