Share your presentations online with Slide.com

If you have yet to participate or present at SecondLife.com, don't be too alarmed. You probably have other priorities!

Although SecondLife is a media darling, there are other social media presentation plays that can garner amazing results. Just take a look at this comparative snapshot from Google Trends:

That's right: Slide.com. Slide.com lets you easily create a slideshow for online, social media delivery. Free. Easy. Music. Pictures. Transitions. Glitter. Animations. All the effects anyone could ever want...and just right for sharing with your online network of friends.

Not much of a mainstream buzz about slide.com -- but definitely a lot of users, and a whole lot of eyeballs. Check it out...

I really enjoy your blog. Didn't see how else to "email" you, so I'm posting here.

As you may have discovered, Microsoft's PPT 2007 Viewer will NOT show animations of elements within SmartArt (the coolest new feature in PPT 2007).

If you agree that this shortcoming needs to be fixed ASAP, could you please urge your readers to send an email to Victor at:
v-9vina@mssupport.microsoft.com

Hearing from more users can definitely escalate the priority given to fixing this bug!

Thanks for your help, Bill

P.S.
The previous post pushing PowerFlashPoint erroneously states that it "retains all your special effects." That, sadly, is wrong. For example, it fails to retain any animations from WITHIN the great new SmartArt feature in PPT 2007.
I just wasted fifteen minutes downloading and trying it. It is expensive, too. And it converted none of the animations from within a dozen SmartArts.

Bill - appreciate your comments.

I ran into that "not showing the SmartArt animations in the PowerPoint 2007 viewer" back in Feb. 2008 -- but I was at the zero hour of a big presentation, so I use the "viewer" as a "just in case" backup.

I thought it was just me!

However, instead of swamping MS email for support (which can take away from time needed to fix the issue) -- what if I ask for support or discuss the issue at the MS PowerPoint forum?

Surely more people than us 2 have this issue -- and a public forum is more actionable than a private one like email!

What do you say?
